Why I Should Have My Generator Maintained

A generator needs regular maintenance at least 2 – times a year and some prefer 4 – times a year. Like a car it has oil, oil filter, air filter, spark plugs, exhaust, and radiator with coolant and a battery with water. Your generator is a car engine.
Today all generators start once a week to exercise themselves automatically which adds to the wear and tear in a good way because it keeps the engine ready at all times day or night to come on when the power go’s off. Keep in mind you’ve invested a lot in an emergency generator so you want to keep it up so it’s there for you 24/7.
All manufacturers state a factory trained technician must maintain your generator while it’s under warranty simply because if not maintained properly and if it fails from neglect the warranty will be void which you don’t want to have to deal with. You bought it to work so have it maintained. Once the generator is out of warranty you can cut back if you choose but not a good idea. Would you stop maintaining your car once it is out of warranty? Of course not.
